Remembrance is an experimental student game that explores new ways to make character’s inner world of emotions, memories, and imagination playable. In this game, we used the landscape as an metaphor of the player character’s inner world and gave the player the ability to transform the landscape through a core mechanics we call terraforming.

Different from many games that focus on the external world, Remembrance is introspective. Its environments, gameplay and storyline are all designed to convey the emotional tones of the player character. These emotions are drawn from our personal experience of the frustrations and joy of coming of age.
